Hours of Operation: Monday through Saturday - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday - 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. Tours by appointment only.

Fees: $4 Adults, $2 children / seniors. Free to members.

Mission: To preserve Long Island's maritime history and heritage for educational purposes. This includes the purchase, reservation, restoration and interpretion of all maritime related artifacts.

Target Audience: School-age youth, adults and the general public.

Facility Description: 16 acre waterfront part with 5 historic buildings. Main museum with history of Fire Island, U.S.Life Saving Service, and recreational boating. Other buildings include 19th century cottage, oyster house, workshop and vessels.

Facilities for People with Special Needs: All exhibits are handicapped accessible.

Types of Programs and Resources Offered: Educational facility/visitors center, resource library, newsletter, educational programs for the public, educational programs for school groups, tours, field trips, in-school programs, and a speakers bureau.
Annual events include the May Art Show, June Antique Show, August Seafood Festival, and the October Halloween Boat Burning.
